|Andrea Szirbik Groft|
I'm currently home taking care of baby Francis and decided to spend this February making a children's album!
Two hands- remembering Szirbikville, the magical wooded center of our large circular driveway where we played as kids and built a land all our own
Uncle Clive- a rock tale about walking rather than driving
Fiddle piddle diddle (Mitchie Middle)- a cautionary tale about spoiling children
Name game- exactly as it sounds! A bit Adam Sandler-esque in my attempts at rhyming but, of course, kid-friendly
I will hold you- a lullaby that I wrote for Francis while pacing around our apartment as she was screaming. It features 3 generations from our family: my mom Jo on harmonies, me on guitar and melody, my daughter Amari also singing melody, and my daughter Francis crying and cooing. :)
Mandy Candy- a story about what happens to an active girl who gets hooked on sugar...
The truth- the importance of telling the truth and our love as parents for our children no matter what
Try (The growth mindset song)- A view of success as a product of hard work
Seasons song- why I love all of them
Vamos a llegar- a song in Spanish about becoming friends with a clown during a momentous trip through the city on a bicycle
C-O-M-P-R-O-M-I-S-E- this one is fairly self-explanatory.
Andrea Szirbik Groft: Songwriting, vocals, guitar and uke, toy closet percussion
Phil Kliger: Bass, accordion and opinionating
Scot Gelzinis: electric guitar on Uncle Clive
Josephine Szirbik: Vocal harmonies on I will hold you and Mandy Candy
Group vocals on C-O-M-P-R-O-M-I-S-E: Harvin Groft, Amari Thornton, and Martel and Teagan Kelleher
Kids voices (C-O-M-P-R-O-M-I-S-E and Name game): Amari Thornton* and Teagan Kelleher
*Also sings melody on I will hold you
