Last year at the Mountain Recording Retreat I built a really great transformer-based U-47 mic clone. It's awesome, with great clarity and sound, but it's also ridiculously sensitive. I live near some train tracks, so I was already used to taking train breaks with my existing mics, but now they're building a new house two doors down and the air compressor comes on every minute or so.
Did I mention how sensitive the mic is?
That is all.
Okay, not really. If you followed that Mountain Recording Retreat link and it looks like something you might be interested in, let me know. There are still a couple of slots open for this year and I might be able to finagle a discount code out of Ronan.
