Therapist told me to write music that would express my innermost feelings, so I did.......mostly.
I just can't seem to upload anything to the jukebox. Help!
Nine tunes. Almost 60 minutes of music.....I had no idea it was that long!!
Ambient Prog Art Rock
It's A Bad Dream Bill. I did the music, and my friend, Bill Lung, who has passed on, did the vocals. I isolated his vocals.....which was hard work, and redid the musical track. It's in my player.
3rd upload. Getting there! https://soundcloud.com/albinosquirrel/swimming
Noise Therapy. In player. or at -https://soundcloud.com/albinosquirrel/alternate-truth-noise-pattern
Being bipolar like I am can be good, or really bad for writing songs. Right now, it's really bad, because I'm hating everything I'm writing. Anybody else struggle with this?
What do you folks use to design your jewel cases?
#10 in the can! I might still write more, but it's great to know that I'm done! - https://soundcloud.com/albinosquirrel/betty-jane
#9 Zarozinia's Grace in the player and also here -https://soundcloud.com/albinosquirrel/zarozinias-grace
Eight down, 2 to go!
Drum loops, vocals, guitar, bass

Fourth one done. https://soundcloud.com/albinosquirrel/bow-down
My first tune is in my player, and at alonetone http://alonetone.com/albinosquirrel/tracks.
Don't know if anyone is around here, but my challenge is in July this year. I have about 18 days. Time to kick some butt!
Well, I have finally accepted, that for the first time in 5 years I will NOT finish writing and recording a CD in the month of February.
I have too much on my mind, you see. I can't organize my thoughts correctly. You might think that a lot on one's mind would be good for writing material, but too much is just not good. I have bipolar disorder, some of you may know that, others probably don't. I was hospitalized a couple of times last year and at the beginning of this year.
Sometimes bipolar gives me a lot of energy to write, sometimes it confuses me enough where I can't get anything done. This is just a fact that I have had to embrace. Please don't think that I'm trying to gather sympathy,, that's not the case here. I have written one good tune, and have decided that however long it takes to finish the CD, I am going to keep on going. I wish you all the best.
My CD is uploaded at www.alonetone.com. You can listen to it here -
Thank you RPM for making me work my ass off! This sight has almost single handedly caused me to rethink the idea of playing live again, meaning, I WANT TO PLAY LIVE again! Unfortuneately, I still haven't delivered a CD with a uniform sound.......maybe I'm just not wired that way? Anyway, on to my collab with my daughter in making a CD cover and mailing this off!
...but not stopping. One more makes 10. But at least I know I am technically done. My daughter is designing the cover this year. #9 is called Dark Ones Dance - it's in my player.
Acoustic blues. Everything is me except the drums, which are loops. You can hear it here - http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=189528
Kind of a cross between a surf tune and an indie rock instrumental.
Don't be a fool! Listen to my song Laughing Fool Blues at - soundcloud.com/albinosquirrel/laughing-fool-blues - or on my player on my page.
#4 for RPM. In my player on my page here.
3rd song. Wow, I'm behind! Jeesh! It can be heard here - http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=189332#
My 2nd song finished, somewhat. It may need to be tweeked. You can listen to it here- http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=1470877&t=1514 or on my RPM page.
When I die, Send me back to North Dakota <br>
away from this heat, and the mean old streets <br>
of the city <br>
I want to be buried in the long grass <br>
where the buffalo once passed <br>
in huge herds of thousands upon thousands <br>
I long to be under the Northern Lights <br>
Lord, what a beautiful sight <br>
with no trees to get in the way <br>
of their glory <br>
I want to breathe in the cool crisp air, <br>
not even a care, if I remembered to lock <br>
my car doors <br>
Sometimes neighbors are miles apart <br>
but you can count on an open heart <br>
in that jewel of a state <br>
on the northern praire <br>
I know you can make a life <br>
wherever your body r oams <br>
but sometimes you leave <br>
the best part of your heart <br>
in your childhood home <br>
When I die, take my body back to North Dakota
My album this year will be called "Happy Sometimes" and I've just completed the first song, "Which Horizon?". You can listen to it on my profile or at http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=189005
Well, like usual, I have no idea what I'm going to write, and will probably be stressed and exhilerated all at the same time all month. God Bless RPM and everyone involved!
Will there be a live stream this year form the listening party?
I feel obligated to mention something that some other folks have pointed out to me. There is a donate button to help support RPM! I think it is well worth it. Times are tough for a lot of people, but I bet that any amount would be appreciated!
I would like to thank the good folks who run RPM for allowing us this opportunity every year! I appreciate ALL of your efforts, and know that you do it all for FREE. A BIG THANKS!
#10 done! http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=175902
This is a silly song about my family's love of Samoa cookies! Song number 10 for the RPM Challenge. I played the guitars, bass, and sang. The drums are loops.
Number 9 done. It's called aerial substration and it's here - http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=1440717&t=7798
I Wouldn't Change A Thing. A love song for my wife. Song #7.
I was originally going to put some keyboards on this, but my controller crapped out. I put some vaguely "synth" sounding lead guitar on it instead. The title is in reference to the old days when I used to imbibe in various, um....chemicals. Acoustic Guitar, Electric guitar, Bass Guitar, and spoken word. Oh, and drum loops.
No keyboards! My midi controller crapped out on me....time to get creative I guess.
I finally got a fourth tune done. I am amazed at the speed of some of you guys, and gals......how do you do this so fast?
Song #3. I'll put you in the ground. link - http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=175016 and in my player on my profile.
I wrote song number two around 'angie fights crime' lyrics. It's called Her Rainbow, and can be found at - http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=174826 - or on my page here.
Got the first one done, finally! Two others are getting there. It's called Promises He's Made. and I loaded it in my player, and at http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=174719
It's that time of year again! Write and record a CD's worth of songs for the RPM Challenge in the month of February. (rpmchallenge.com) I am going to try to keep this years CD an acoustic guitar and vocals affair, with very little embellishment. Bare bones, you might say. Let the games begin!
My ringing years are bothering me a great deal. Anybody else have that problem? It bothers me most when I am trying to master a track. I played live, loud music for many years, and that's where my tinnitus comes from. It went away for a few years, then came back. Terrible at night when I am trying to sleep......oh well.
