Last night was day 1 for me. I got the drums setup but had less time to work than I thought I would because of stuff like working late, a flat tire with a bolt in it, cat tending, table sales, and geting old. But I did end up with about 3 hours at the end and did get quite a bit done.
1) Didj solo- Why not? This is the instrument I that get my creativity going and every session starts with didj. It's just fun and it just feels good. So just setup the mics and play whatever comes out. And in this case I added a little echo and had fun doin a little didj beat box on the big A# stick. Can't think of better way to start the year. It's called "BeatBamBoo" .
2) Then moved on to play with the new synth. I like hardware and the XF6 is amazing. Props to my lady for not letting me get the cheaper model. I was thinking of the cave diving scene in "Planet Earth" where the cave divers come into a cavern that looks like it has air in it. But when he swims in his head doesn't poke above the water but just gets blurry like some movie effect. Reality is that it's fresh water sitting on top of salt water and it looks like air on water. Attenborough says "what looks like air is just different water". As they swim through the salt and fresh waters mix causing the light to bend in blurry swirls around them. What an amazing sight. With this inspiration in mind, in about 20 minutes I had a nice warmy analog synth and what I heard in my mind to go with it was spirit flute. This is my music to the cave diving scene. It's called "Different Water".
3) I was getting kind of tired (the getting old thing) but I decided to take my own challenge. Going back to the "Imagine" Challenge I issued in Dec I decided to get my version done and hopefully inspire you all to try it. Requirements: really only one, donate some money to the World Food Programme and save some lives. Even $10 makes a difference. But I provided all the seprate parts to Lennon's "Imagine" so you can use them to do your own mix. Use a pitch convertor, speed convertor, whatever you like. Sing it, play it, rockify it, make it you. Still feeling good I got out the pans and did my version rerecording everything. XF6 for piano and strings. Bass, Yammy acoustic, and the pans. Kit drums.
Then it was time for bed.
Hope you like.
In my player now. Along with the the Jan Challenge track and all you need for Imagine.

I've uploaded my RPM'11 ambient album "Circumstellar Orbit" on ReverbNation.
Sadly, due to the free account's limits on that site (max. 8Mb mp3s... not the best option for storage of long mp3s with good bitrates), I decided to deactivate the download link in all my tracks on ReverbNation.
Anyway, if you want download the full album (256kbs) you also can find it on soundcloud.
