2017 and "riseUp!" are both done and available here.
I'm pretty happy with them both, 2 strong female singers, and my music goes really well together. I can't think of two albums that are more different than these two, hell, the "riseUp!" songs were written at the same time as the MINOA01 songs and they sound even more different than those. I'm pretty excited to finally be finished and now I can focus on other things.
smallwaves show this Saturday, looking forward to that, I love our music and I love to play it live. working on new ideas, we jam out for a couple hours and then sift through the distruction to find kernals of song ideas. Logan, our singer will help now to turn the ideas into songs, and that's good news for me, because before he joined the band it was my job exclusively. I actually sat down with the ideas the other day and started writing a song from one of them, so I guess every time I think I'm out of ideas, I'm flat out wrong. It does greatly help that I didn't come up with the musical ideas to start out with, and only have to arrange and write words. I'm pretty good at that too.
the Next MINOA02 project will start shortly as well, we have an idea to do a sort of musical, called "dreams" which will be about a dream therapist who is visited by various clients throughout the day, and each client is a different song, and in between each client will be the therapist song, tying it all together. I think it's a great idea and I hope that everyone will join in. If you are not a part of MINOA and are on Facebook, let me know and I will add you to the group.
this is the album I was working on before RPM. It's done now, so go buy it.
and now that i've finished 2 albums this month, I think i'm going to take the rest of the winter and most of the spring off. yup. thanks.
and another reason to never try to do anything on Margarita Mondays, my solution to the weak vocals was to double everything and pan them, which does increase the volume quite a bit, but they still get lost at times, so the solution is to word by word go through every song and adjust the volume versus the music to ensure that everything is heard properly. either that or I can say I recorded an album in February and fix it all later. I can't even say that I care at this point. I'm very happy with the songs themselves, just completely disappointed in my mixing abilities. I really need to learn Logic. It would wonderful if anyone would go listen to my mixes and lambaste me here in this public forum, but I know that nobody will, so i'll just sit here miserably at work and wallow in my ineptness.
my ears are shot, i know the vocals are wonky, please take a listen and give me some honest feedback. thanks.
glad I went to see LaLaLand yesterday, but now I feel like I need to write a musical. I felt the same way after seeing Book of Mormon, but now I think maybe the MINOA02 project should be a musical.
in other news, the single for "riseUp" is out, you should track it down.
in other news, Madeline has 2 vocals left to do. time is ticking away. it will or not happen, either way, a CD will be shipped out before noon on Wednesday.
all my mixes are in my player, so you should go listen to them and let me know what you think.
missing vocals on 4 songs with 2 days to go. i'm praying for a miracle at this point, even though everything Madeline has done so far is amazing. take a listen and let me know what you think.
waiting for vocals, waiting for vocals...this is what we got so far, let me know what you think. thanks to Tim for helping me get these wav files adjusted.
waiting for vocals. waiting for vocals. waiting for vocals.
in other news, "riseUp!" is done, so there's that. I may release a single this weekend and the full length on March 15. it's way better than 2017, but it's also in a minor key, so suck it Tim!
in other other news, before everyone leaves, we need to see if anyone wants to sign up for MINOA02. it's gonna be fun.
but it's gonna be worth it.
really. Madeline is killing it so far and I'm really curious as to what she does on the heavier stuff. I wanna hear her screaming.
