I put my RPM tracks up on alonetone, follow me and I'll follow back!
Okay, I was looking over my playlist and noticed I had uploaded the same song twice!!! Arrrrggggghhhh!!!! Anyway, so I fixed it and uploaded the correct song. Sorry about that. It was recorded in the month of February!!!! So pissed me off!!! Does it still count as finishing? Grrrrrrrr!!!!
Yeah, all done! Alls songs are uploaded in final running order, album art is done and uploaded. Officially done!! Got some late date additions in the form of some nice acoustic leads from a most gracious fellow RPMer Bob Sorace on songs 'Cause It's His House and I was Blue till I heard the good news. Great additions to both songs!
Congratulations to all and to all a good night!!!
So the 10 songs are done except for some mix tweaking and hopefully a bit of lead on two. That might not happen. I'm going to ask on the collaboration thread on the forum to see if someone could put some lead on them, simple blues songs. I'm just not good at doing blues leads, rhythm I can do, but lead, well not so much.
Anyway the are done and on the player on my page. It was fun and a very much needed challenge! My fourth time to do this. YEAH ME!!!!
Getting near the end. I have one more song to record, and waiting on a lead part from my son, beginning to think he is not going to get it done. It might get posted as is in order to finish the album.
So, the new song is Nothing I Can't Do
There's nothing I Can't Do
No, there nothing I can't do
With you Lord, there's nothing I can't do
The song was inspired in part by the Bible Verse John 15:1-8. I hope you like the the fruit I bear in my song.
1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunesa so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
I do a basic mix after recording all the tracks on a song and then listen to the mix on various media sources; headphones, home stereo, cell phone speakers, and lastly my car. Oddly enough I find my car to be the most definitive of whether my mix is good or not. My latest song "Rainbow, Promise of Love" I thought had a good basic mix. It sounded good on the various sources at home but when I listened to it this morning, it was OMG! No! Oh too much reverb on my vocal! I just couldn't' hear it well enough on the other media. So that mix will definitely get some more tweaking for sure!
7th song uploaded, number 8 recorded, but 8 is not done yet so. Two more to record and the required 10 songs will be done other than a bit of tweaking on the mixes. Definitely demo mode on all these songs as my equipment is quite limited. My phone is my studio and mixer with the Ntrack App. Acoustic guitar, bass, a mic as needed, a small amp to give some air to some things as needed. My acoustic guitar is also my beat box for a bit of percussion.
This song is my gay pride song I guess. With a prism white light is divided into it's component colors Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. The rainbow is God's promise to never flood the earth again I think it is also a promise of love to each and every one of us no matter our color, our religion, our gender, who we love or where we were born. We are all part of Gods wondrous rainbow!
The chorus goes.
The red, and the orange and the green
The blue and the indigo are we
All the colors make his light
We are that rainbow.....Thats right.
So got the second song recorded for the day, makes a grand total of six thus far. The Latest is "Waiting" about doing what you need to do while waiting on Gods time.
I keep waiting on the Lord's Time
Keep waiting for that dream
Keep waiting for some hope
Cause hope is what I need
Wrote this when I was commuting to a job on Mondays and back home on Fridays, 4 hours each way. Sixteen months I did this. It was hard, very hard. I did a bit of acoustic lead on it. Turned out not too bad.
Song I wrote a few years ago, about the issues of life, losing ones faith, searching for answers, and feeling a bit lost. Sometimes just spending some time down on the floor our face to the floor in submission to our father above is just what we need to be doing. The father understands even when the world does not.
Got three songs recorded and sound more or less ok. The juke box player playback really sucks though! I may have to change the volume on the tracks, but they sounded good on eveyrhing else I played them through. Nothing fancy, just acoustic guitar, bass, and vocals.
