am/fm dreamsFull ReportA new song that just came to me one day. I wrote it and recorded it in one take on the iPad in about a half and hour. It's about love as a subject vs. object. Whatever that means...
AMUCOmertaI was breaking in a new microphone this month, and made death growls happen. =)https://alonetone.com/amuc/tracks/omerta
Blind ColoursMorning Sequence - Sleepless PastoraleThis is a scene from a new-wave-like movie that only exists in my headhttps://soundcloud.com/user-291449380/morning-sequence-sleepless-pastorale
Dandy From HomeOn My OwnWanted to make something a bit more energetic.https://soundcloud.com/dandyfromhome/on-my-own
David Cooper OrtonBird SongAn avian melody, half-heard one morning in the garden just before coffeehttps://alonetone.com/dco/tracks/bird-song
David Dineen-PorterKepler 70b from Holst's The ExoplanetsHolst's the planets but for exoplanets and vintage 70s french electronicahttps://soundcloud.com/user-566351058-306778477/kepler-70b-from-holsts-the-exoplanets
David ThorleyProcedural Court DramasI don’t often write songs with a chorus. Here’s one about imagining you’re a TV defence lawyer.https://alonetone.com/dalwynth/tracks/procedural-court-dramas
Diana BaileyYoungI accidentally wrote an almost 6 minute dance-pop song because I was so grateful not to be 20https://alonetone.com/dianabailey/tracks/young
EchogunInterstellarMore cheesy spacewave! This was made mostly through Komplete, which I bought at the beginning of the month. Not really sure what I came up with, but hey, I got it done. Something something fingerguns!https://echogun.bandcamp.com/track/interstellar
Evil SuitcaseSign PainterNo clue where this one came from, but I recorded it in the retro style it required!
Jai Mohanbeloved (lovely killer)A devotional song to Apollo, god of music (among other things.)
Jai MohanGarden of Light (Sword of Light remix) ft. Jeremy WillisMost of the mixing and recording for this (aside from samples of the original) were done while in a garden in a local park, hence the title.
Jeff BurchettMidsummerA meditation on summer and transience for the solsticehttps://jeffmakesnoise.bandcamp.com/album/midsummer
Jeremy WillsWhat Does Love Do?I did not plan to do a track for the REM challenge, but when I finished this, I realized that it was composed and recorded within the month of June, 2021, so I was like "what the heck, might as well." This is a sneak peak at my new EP of unused ideas from LINT, which will be finished soon.
Jeremy WillsJai Mohan - Home (Remixed by Jeremy Wills)A remix of the song "Home" (Jai Mohan)
Joel Glenn WixsonYou Can FlyThis song came to me in a dream. It seems to be about the amazing transformation that happens when we die, specifically for folks who lose precious memories as they get older. We try so hard to hold onto what we think is important, then we remember we can fly.
JuntingHappy BapA joyful modern boom-bap thing. Drums are a bit loud, and could use better mastering, but this is stlil probably one of my best and happiest songs.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2cuVXTvgMBOu59ARsf2alQ
Luna PonderosaWarming/Plumehttps://siralfrediv.bandcamp.com/track/warming-plume
Luna PonderosaA Second Second SkylineTrack exchange Here's my ludicrous take on the masterful Second Skyline from Blind Colours. I couldn't approach the original's great guitar work and arrangement (like a lost Ventures-in-cowboy-hats soundtrack),so I came at in arcane ways. I ended up stripping most of the melody, and set it to silly 808 samples and cheesy effects.https://soundcloud.com/tonyhogard/a-second-second-skyline/
Magic BulletPigman CutA fourth 35 minute epic for the Record Every Month Challenge (fifth if you count the RPM Challenge before it),for which we apologise to Elling Lien and the team profusely. It's quite hard to come up with a reasonable edit of such a long and variable work without it sounding a bit disjointed, but we've done our best, promise. This month, we raided the garage for a rattle gun, also known as an impact gun or wrench. Some of the sounds used are original, albeit beautifully edited, and quite recognisable. Some have been stretched, effected and/or manipulated, as is our way. The title, an anagram of 'impact gun' (we like anagrams, but not as much as Skit likes power tools, you should hear his version of John Cage's 4:33!),was inspired by Charlie Brooker, who in his annual 'review of the year' show, aptly referred to Donald Trump as an 'experimental pig man'. We couldn't have put it better ourselves, so we didn't try. We would like to dedicate this track not to Charlie (but thanks),rather to Little Baby Don, coz it would annoy him much more, though probably not as much as the accompanying graphic...https://alonetone.com/magicbullet/tracks/pigman-cut
MarilynThe Newfoundland DisasterOriginal Newfoundland Countryhttps://Alonetone.com
Mikey HoganPhotosLots of ukes and a sad story. I wrote the seed of this last October and recorded and finished it this month.https://alonetone.com/MikeyHogan/tracks/photos
Neil NebulaJust In My Headhttps://soundcloud.com/neilnebulamusic/just-in-my-head
Newfoundland Electric SymphonyInterstellar ReleaseA keyboard tapestry of time signatures, ostinato, and interesting peaks and valleys. There is a hearty amount of tribute to Igor Stravinsky here. I was thinking of Earth.
Omama OthmanSFGhttps://alonetone.com/omama/tracks/sfg
Salman AhadScheme Away, Ol' ChapHaving just fallen in love with the music in Loki by Natalie Holt, I opened up my laptop to make something mischievous in that vein and then all of a sudden this bop of a TV theme song came together and now I really wanna see that TV show come to life just so I can use this somewhere!
Salman AhadBeast Ghost by Jeremy Wills (Remixed by Salman Ahad)So I finally got a chance to cover @LINT 's experimental track called Beast Ghost and that was one hell of a challenge as a first time cover I didn't know where to start so I thought in order to stay true to the nature of the cover, I didn't use a single external instrument and made instruments and patches solely out of the original track using Slate+Ash's Cycles, which is a sequencer and granular synthesizer umm, it's definitely noise that has a bit of movement so not sure if it qualifies as music, but here it is for anyone looking for a real departure from whatever it is that they were listening to
Savory Flakes(everything)Where did the month go - surfing the psycho cybernetics, hundreds of words written, scramble - plug in the faithful Casiotone 202, no live drums but a song of some sort. Hope it isn't over mastered, my last 2 have been over the top!
SchmexThe OtherThis is part Aye, aye, aye of the miscellany trilogy. I recorded it on a Tascam DP-008EX 8 track recorder. (I'll be so glad when I get a decent audio interface so I can use Reaper...)https://alonetone.com/rosteiner/playlists/the-miscellany-trilogy/the-other
TeeKayEnI don't want to be lied toI wanted to make a garage song for this month instead of another instrumental piece. My voice is weak but I had a lot of fun trying something different. It's not to serious and hopefully will kick off my magician feud. Next, jugglers.https://soundcloud.com/t-k-n/i-dont-want-to-be-lied-to
The Wizards of VomitDo Not Forget to do LaundryEach week I take one day to record music and do laundry. Usually I get to consumed by the music and forget to do laundry, so I figured if I title my song cleverly I will not forget. Turns out I still forgot.https://soundcloud.com/user-480855336/do-not-forget-to-do-laundrey-1
Twilight SleepFaded (excerpt)A less than grand exit, wandering into the darkness to the sound clinking glasses and distant roaring laughter of forever and time.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztQsyv2d0Qk&list=PLjEwT93HOAIplEh_yy_PMAuzuz4cV7UGy&index=2
