vermont is a collection of songs that talk about friendships present and past, things I'm facing in my life and some good times and some bad times. In a lot of ways this is an album with me coming to terms with change and moving on. It has acoustic guitar and vocals on it because I wanted to focus on coming out with songs I was happy with rather than spend too much time on production. It feels like a good step into some new sonic territory for me that I've been working on this past year in particular.
I particularly loved recording half the vocals on the 27th while competing with plow trucks and roommates. But also it was the first rpm where I feel like a lot of the material has potential to be rerecorded in a more fully produced manner, I'm stoked for this one song wise.
I learned that the sm57 is a wonderful invention and that my Martin has a terrifying amount of low-end sometimes. Oh and also that my voice will not cooperate when I need vocal tracks.
