The Wizards of Vomit
This is probably the biggest mix of genres I have ever put together, from experimental noise rock to bossanova jazz, I had loads of fun recording it. Looking forward to next years RPM challenge!

The Dudley Frank Neighbors
We made five tracks that include songs about the winter and family. I recorded with my wife, friend, and father-in-law remotely. Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Uke, Mandolin, Keyboard, and Vocals were recorded. We used Band Lab to record.

BRICK.
This is a small instrumental snippit from an album called "Theory of everything" to be released later. All tracks consist of chopped samples to depict a range of emotions.

Schmex
I made a retrospective, and look ahead at my life over the past year. It's been a literal life or death struggle, and I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I kind of made it as a small legacy for my children and grandchildren, so they can see that I actually use all these instruments and gadgets in my room.

Patrick Molloy
The New VS The Old was recorded mostly on an iPhone 11. It's a mixture of new songs and some older songs that have been kicking around for a while, but never given any love. This 5 song EP explores the never ending questions of purpose on this planet, the conditions we are born into and die out of, the perceived restlessness of a mermaid's existence, the beauty of the moment in travelling bliss, and the common thread of bubbling unease between living through a pandemic and the pending war between the new and old gods from the book and TV series, "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman.

Sunil K Chopra
I made an album of original music. This was about 90% written in February. I have had many of these musical ideas kicking around for about a year, but they were _far_ from being considered complete songs. I recorded this in my home studio using Ardour on Ubuntu. I used MIDI for drums and keys. I made it for everybody. I feel like there were some things that people needed to hear.

Shaundar
I made 10 song album in my pop-up studio. This year was in Freshwater NL! I do it every year I am able but this year put it out for everyone to hear. Enjoy

Frank and Jackie Gesek
A CD compilation of patriotic tunes and songs about triumph over adversity. Made it for the challenge, for our own sharing of music

bad faith actors
My first real attempt at a solo record, with a lot of help from my brother and friends. I made it with a mix of live drums and drum machines, guitars and synths.
Fingerbreaker
My son wanted me to help him write a song. He wrote the words and structure of the song and I came up with music for it.
james benoit
sometimes my dreams feel like this' is a short lil 5 track ep i made about some dreams
Indoor Voices
We wanted to find punk music for kids for our son, but couldn't find any. This EP is for him, and other children who want to be a little rebellious.
Staplegun
A Power Pop/Punk EP. First off, I play in a hardcore band so these songs wouldn't fit in at all, haha! Most of the songs were unfinished and I probably would have never finished and released them if it weren't for this challenge. It also helped me get a lot of practice with Reaper and recording/mixing in general. I'm proud of how it came out and I hope others will enjoy it as much as I do. :D
dmon
I made dark ambient with trap rap infused drums. I used software sound design and field recordings. I made it for anyone who has had a bad trip.
The Checkers Speech
An RPM friend recently told me that the songs I do for the challenge are "always fun", and that really helped to focus me this year. I just kept my eye on being "fun", and the rest was easy.
Beware, I Live
What did I make?.. well there's a question for the ages. Cobbled together using some a handful of synths, a 20 year old midi keyboard and Ableton Live.
Tico
It's a happy song about not letting people drag you down. I made on my computer for anyone who wants to listen.
Doll Butcher
We are a rock/electronic band. We wrote 2 songs this year. The pandemic and the isolation that comes with it come through on these tracks, it's a bit dark. We live in different states but we have a good setup for writing, passing the songs back and forth. We wrote a bunch of other songs, too, we just didn't have time to finish them all, probably going to release the rest of the "Dirt Waves" as we finalize the tracks. We made this for us, we both have underlying conditions that have had us isolated for the last year, we had to get some stuff out.
EclectiCollective
If our RPM2020 compilation was about Zdzisław Beksiński and the world entering into a bizarre unrecognizable transformation, RPM 2021 sees shapes slowly returning to familiar forms- very different but somehow renewed. EclectiCollective has been doing the RPM challenge for 10 years now, as a fun excuse for friends from all sorts of styles to come together and create an album.
Lucy In The Underworld
I've been thinking that I should make something in the style of Twin Peaks, David Lynch and Bohren & Der Club Of Gore. Then I happened to hear about RPM and it seemed like a perfect fit. Just wanted to explore something new and do stuff quickly without overthinking it... I made everything at home on my laptop.
Colten Thor
This 4 track EP came to fruition in between social visits, and watching my two lovely children from up. it was Created using a variety of stringed instruments including a concert ukulele, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, Bass guitar. usb mixer allowed me to plug in my instruments and the classic snowball microphone assisted in capturing vocals and ambient sounds, acoustic guitar etc. I made this album for anyone loosing faith in rock and roll.
Oude Kaas
I have been composing for about 10 years. I have had writers block for half of that time, and I've always wanted to make an Art Rock / Electronica / Jazz album centered around the storytelling and poetry. My biggest goal in this project was to create a robust process by which I can continue to make future work. I recorded everything in my practice space, and mixed it myself (sorry! I'm still working on that part of the process) I wrote each piece in the album to challenge a different aspect of my musicianship. Some of the tunes are targeting improvisational, conceptual or specific music theory skills, while others are simply challenging the fact that I'm trying to play all of the instruments. It definitely crept away from me and became something that I didn't plan, but watching it unfold was the magic of it! I spent 3 days systematically generating over 150 musical fragments, loops, grooves, synth patches, and seeds, and then I picked the top 5-10 on day 4 and started chasing it.
sakejmith
This album was made in the last week of February. Written and Produced by sakejmith. sakejmith - Moog Concertmate MG-1 / Drum Set, Dr. Professor Wing8 - Attorney at Robot Law, Chrs - other
The Maadmen
In this "All killer, no filler" album we wanted to write a James Bond theme song that ended up being both a tribute to Sir Sean Connery and a covering of just about every style of music we like. Basically, we wrote the original Bond theme, then dod covers of it in jazz, tango, pop, glam, reggae, psychobilly, funk, rap, blues and finishing off with folk. Essentially, something for everyone. We hope you all enjoy listening as much as we liked composing it. Peace, The Maadmen
Crimson Rainer
I made an Action Metal track for a war album im hoping to complete this year starting with this one, Its an instrumental, with inspiration from doom so i wanted to make it rather chaotic and intense.
Justin Vegh
this is my second foray into what i would characterize as dadfolk. it is a song for my daughter who is 6 months old and was written during paternity during nap times. it took 2 days to write, and another 18 days to perfect. my wife forgives me, i think.
minus the hat
The EP opens with a track based on a trip to Donegal with a close friend many, many moons ago where we dreamed by the sea and danced to the sound of the fire. Following is a track that currently sums up my general worldview. And lastly a song dedicated to all those times spent in between time where the future would stretch out into infinity and everything and nothing would exist all at once.
Oliver Matthews-Hanna
I created this record for myself, mainly as a challenge. I wanted to take five tracks that I wrote, and try to produce them all the way through, and see what happened. Each song covers a different style - some carry influences from classical music, and others have aspects of funk and alternative. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, with all the challenges that came along with it. I am also proud to say that I did complete the five tracks that I intended to! If I had all the time in the world, there would certainly be things that I would clean up in some of the songs. But that is what I loved most about this challenge. Just producing tracks in a short period of time, and seeing what comes out the other end. I hope you enjoy them!
Ghosts Of Delphi
I made an album, at home, in my studio. Alone. For me, I guess, and anyone else who might feel like listening.
Chad Calamity
A 6 track punk EP with songs about racism, role models, destiny, abuse and punctuality.
