---|---|---|---|
am/fm dreams | Bunkbed | This is an old song from our second album A Tale of Two Seas (2006). I haven't played it in a long time, just banged out a live version using two mics straight to the mixer in keeping with my theme of recording live on the last day of the month. Didn't use the iPad this time so sound quality is marginally better... | |
AMUC | Mayday | I managed to do a death growl this month. Woo! Song name was supposed to be a working title, but heck - it just happened to fit the lyrics. | https://alonetone.com/amuc/tracks/mayday |
Big Rips | Penultimate Warrior | This song is about hanging out with my cousin that lived across town from me. I'd ride my bike over his house every day and we'd just eat junk food and play games...back when life was fun. | https://bigrips.bandcamp.com/track/penultimate-warrior |
Blind Colours | "Petit Jardin" Valse | This is somewhat of a soundtrack to my memories of the carefree summer days long gone. If they were a scene in a silent or new wave movie | https://soundcloud.com/user-291449380/petit-jardin-valse |
Buku Panda | Accept & Keep On (Music Is an Art) | Featuring deadkousin on the first verse and adriand with njlang on the hook, which adriand wrote. All vocals were recorded in a collaborative jam on the Endlesss.fm app. I produced the music in the ios app “Samplr” then arranged and mixed in the DAW “Zenbeats” (also in iOS). | https://soundcloud.com/bukupanda/accept-and-keep-on-music-is-an-art/s-N6hGsRAIImp |
Dandy From Home | Always | This is a cover of Always by It Could Be Franky. Done as part of the side challenge we had this month | |
David Cooper Orton | Kirwan Green | An evolving sequence of notes, taking on a life of their own | https://davidcooperorton.bandcamp.com/track/kirwan-green |
David Cooper Orton | April unlike another | Composed and performed for a video performance that will beshown online later in May. | https://alonetone.com/dco/tracks/april-unlike-another |
David Thorley | It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World | After overreaching my abilities in my two previous REM submissions, I wanted to write a simpler song. I ended up with this one about existence, absurdism and the meaning of life. Played here on a broken guitar — a further inkling of mortality. | https://alonetone.com/dalwynth/tracks/it's-a-mad-mad-mad-mad-world |
Echogun | Heliopause | In between stars, there's literal light years of nothingness. Strap yourself in and get ready for a long ride...we'll get there someday. | https://echogun.bandcamp.com/track/heliopause |
Evil Suitcase | The Devil's Hands | Went with the electronic instruments this month, I was working on a different song and had the general idea for this one, and ended up doing it instead. | |
Indoor Voices | Blanket Fort | Ska song for kids about building sweet forts out of blankets. | https://alonetone.com/indoorvoices/tracks/blanket-fort |
It Could Be Franky | Dandy from Home - Moon Dog (It Could Be Franky Remix) | I chopped up the vocals and guitars in Moon Dog, added my own drums, bass, lead synths, strings and organ. All made in Ableton. | |
Jai Mohan | One Year/ Boy | ||
Jeff Burchett | Neither Space Nor Time | A cinematic meditation on life, death, impermanence. | https://jeffmakesnoise.bandcamp.com/album/neither-space-nor-time |
Jeremy Wills | Salman Ahad - A Discovery of Dishes (Remixed by Jeremy Wills) | A remix by Jeremy Wills of "A Discovery of Dishes" (Salman Ahad). | |
Joel Glenn Wixson | Mother | This song came to me entirely in a dream. The "Mother" in the song is mother Earth. I figured that out after trying to use "Brother" or something in stead and it just didn't feel right. I've never done somthing like this, where it's essentailly the same thing over and over, no bridge, just verses. It's a blast to sing, though. | |
Junting | Message to Prizia ft. g loc | Had fun making this short track with a friend's voice. The beat has characteristics from the Flint/Detroit area. 195 BPM | https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2cuVXTvgMBOu59ARsf2alQ |
justjoyfading | AKiRA | um, kinda like lofi if lofi switched out piano for field recorded samples, made after making a lofi track i wasn't happy with. | https://justjoyfading.bandcamp.com/track/akira |
KR Seward | Eye Six Four | Done with VCV Rack, S.A.M.M.I., Reelwave/smphn, ADelay2 and VPedals Lite/padlike gizmo. Some feedback and varispeed mishegas. | |
Lacrymology | Sueños de Marzo | Recorded with a Moog Subharmonicon, a guitar, a DFAM and some FX. My first mix on tape. | https://alonetone.com/Lacrymology/tracks/sue%C3%B1os-de-marzo-2 |
Luna Ponderosa | Abca | Synth, bass, guitar/uke, drum samples layered into a wall of voodoo. I may have spent more time with this music (getting chord sequence just so, bass & synth tones, etc.) than anything else this past 6 months, so close to it I had trouble finding the lyric. Then I had a conversation with my gf about how we communicate, and thoughts about how we live as the world sinks into slow apocalypse, and the words came together in about half an hour. | https://siralfrediv.bandcamp.com/track/abca |
Magic Bullet | The Rilled Circlet | Yes, it's a fourth 35 minute experimental noise work from Skit and myself for Elling Lien and his RPM Challenge. After promising not to do another one, then doing it anyway, and a third the month after, we give up with such promises. This will be the norm, be sensible, insure your ears, there will be no quarter offered on our part. Our first weapon of choice was the annoying tones they would play in the days television closed down at night, the ones that would get into your head and force you to stand up, walk over to the set and reach for the off switch (ask your dad). Second, we picked the pneumatic drill. Third, the mitre saw. Now, we torment your senses with the humble electric drill (yes, Rilled Circlet, it's an anagram, getting too easy, aren't they?),an aural lobotomy, courtesy of the Magic Bullet. We love The Mavericks! | https://alonetone.com/magicbullet/tracks/the-rilled-circlet |
Mikey Hogan | Just Like The Other Boys | A short song I wrote as part of a recent song-a-day project, with added arrangements recorded this month. | https://alonetone.com/MikeyHogan/tracks/just-like-the-other-boys |
Robert Parker | No Surprises | 7/8 time on a brand new guitar that I got for my birthday. Awww | https://alonetone.com/robertjames1971/tracks/no-surprises |
Salman Ahad | Jump the Tracks | Sometimes you just feel like you wanna get away from it all, no? Isn't there something we're all hiding from? Take a journey into that mental space with this one. | |
Savory Flakes | Opposite Ocean | True Story that occurred this month. Dig this challenge because it's a chance to learn,,, slowly,,, and hear the world | |
Schmex | This (Part One of the Miscellany Trilogy) | This is the first movement of a trilogy I'm working on. My intention was to post the whole thing, but I ran into snags with the third song that I won't be able to overcome by the deadline. It's crudely recorded on a Tascam recorder, as I'm struggling with routing in Reaper... | https://alonetone.com/rosteiner/tracks/this |
Schmex | That (Part B) of the Miscellany Trilogy | This is the second part of a trilogy. All the parts are recorded live by me. Definitely not first takes! I had to write and learn all the parts except the guitars. Enjoy as best you can. | https://alonetone.com/rosteiner/tracks/that |
(songs by request) | Come Up For Oxygen | I got Vocaloid, software which synthesizes voices, and it ruled so I started cranking out tracks, end of story. | https://soundcloud.com/user-566351058-306778477/come-up-for-oxygen?in=user-566351058-306778477/sets/vocaloid-ep |
TeeKayEn | Ice Bomb | This track was put together in the DAW Reason as a bit of a fun instrumental jam after my first struggles at songwriting. I hope you all like it! | https://soundcloud.com/t-k-n/ice-bomb |
The Checkers Speech | Worse With Practice | It's a mess! The rhythm of the bass is off somehow, but that's what we've got. | |
The Wizards of Vomit | Empty V Music Television | I recently got this shimmer effect pedal and this song is the result of it | https://soundcloud.com/user-480855336/empty-v-music-television-fast |
Walter Noons | May I | I've never had the opportnity to propose. If I did, I's use this song. | https://www.reverbnation.com/walternoons |
WXO | The Discourse | It's a relaxing and uplifting prog-inspired pop instrumental for when you've been on Twitter for too long. | https://soundcloud.com/wxo/the-discourse |
