Aaron Parys | Arrokoth Arrival | Electronic | Challenging Month to try and focus on Music ... This song was not going make the cut (at First),but after more editing and Added some more Synth Tracks I felt it was ready!!.. Long Process! | https://soundcloud.com/aaron-parys/arrokoth-arrival |
AMUC | Floating on a Silver Thread | Electronic, Singer-Songwriter | I improvised some lyrics and experimented with adding harmony and stuff. I tried to get the voices, drums and synthesizers to play nice with each other. | https://alonetone.com/amuc/ |
An Ode To Brigid | The Path to Healing | Ambient
Andrea Szirbik Groft | Dressed in white | Folk, Singer-Songwriter | I wrote this song as a wedding present for my cousin who just got married. It is the first time that I have watched someone get married who I have watched grow up (I'm quite a bit older than her). I felt like I was channeling all of the emotions of parents watching their kids get married as I wrote this song and I almost envision it could be a father daughter first dance song. I'm still not "done" with arranging it or recording it, but this is a song I would have obsessed over for a super long time so I am grateful for the time limit. :) | https://soundcloud.com/groft-family-farm |

Boschendal | Transfuse Muse | Electronic, Synth | https://alonetone.com/boschendal/playlists/boschendal-rpm-2023
Bukupanda | Buku | Hip-Hop | Composed this beat on the first of the month and added the rhymes on top, then sat on it with little tweaks here and there but got distracted by other unfinished projects. So this is a deadline mix job and said some quick live muting for an arrangement. Tracked with Koala and Loopy Pro, Ipad + iOS, all in the box, vox was internal mic’d | http://soundcloud.com/bukupanda |
Caitlin Piper | The Deer of Western New York | Comedy, Singer-Songwriter | This song speaks for itself. | https://soundcloud.com/caitlin-piper-90687664 |
Coyote Senate | Sundog | Metal, Noise | Drone and metal; improvised in the waning hours of the challenge. Been a busy month! | https://soundcloud.com/coyotesenate |
David Thorley | All The World's A Warehouse | Indie | Uncustomary worthiness from me - reflections on the UK's housing crisis (though I do still manage to work in the odd reference to pop culture). | https://alonetone.com/dalwynth |
DJ Ghia | No More Stolen Sisters | Hip-Hop, Singer-Songwriter | Experimented with making rap to honor Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls using Garageband | https://soundcloud.com/todd-warfield-199541239 |

Evil Suitcase | This Will Only Take A Minute | Rock | I only had two minutes worth of ideas this month, even with some padding.
First Born Sun | By Design | Indie | This one has taken a while to write and arrange. Recording was done over July with a live drummer and female backing vocals. This one will be the last track on the album. | https://firstbornsun.bandcamp.com/album/a-bird-in-the-hand |
In_winter | amid the times | Ambient, Guitar | watching the ocean waves in my head | https://soundcloud.com/user-145616674 |
Kevyspice | Reduce, Reuse, Recycle I | Electronic, Noise | Smooshed together an old drum machine arrangement I'd programmed in 1996, a short tape loop from a couple of years ago, and some synth noises from a little Korg volca, ran 'em through some guitar pedals, recorded live into Reaper, and just adjusted the volume levels a little bit before rendering. Mostly just wanted to see if the setup worked, like writing a nonsense poem in WordPad or whatever to test the $10 printer from the thrift store. Looking forward to making more intentional nonsense in the future. :) | https://alonetone.com/kevyspice |
KV Schaefer | How Much Hummus Is Too Much Hummus ?!?!?! | Rock, Punk | From the Wikipedia: “Hummus (/ˈhʊməs/, /ˈhʌməs/; Arabic: حُمُّص ḥummuṣ, “chickpeas”),also spelled hommus or houmous, is a dip of Arab origin, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. The standard garnish in the Middle East includes olive oil, a few whole chickpeas, parsley, and paprika.” But……how much is too much??? | https://www.kyleschaefer.com |
lil bits | lil bits and the spell of inertia | Electronic, Experimental | Another live coded track made with Tidal Cycles | https://helpimathrock.bandcamp.com/ |
Luna Ponderosa | Cherenkov | Guitar, Retro | Trying out a couple of new pedals. Guitar, bass, drumachine, voice. Vertigo is unpleasant. Not everything has to mean something, even in its excess. Whom do you trust to give you good information? | https://siralfrediv.bandcamp.com |
Malady of Knots & fencepost | The Price of Greed : Seveso | Experimental, Field Recording | https://lessthanone.bandcamp.com
Metamere | Hope For Tomorrow | Electronic, Classical | This piece is somewhat programmatic, somewhat expressive. I wanted to tell a story of moving from a dark place of drudgery and powerlessness to finding courage, strength, purpose, and joy. I’ve been a part of the community for a bit, but this was my first submission. I was excited to use my updated and repaired Synthstrom Deluge to make something cool. I wanted to make full use of its new OLED display, but it didn’t make much difference for this particular song, since I was mostly using my older methods of midi sequencing of synths and multisampled instruments, recording keys improv, and simple beats with synth drums. I did advance my skills a bit learning to use the arranger mode, which allowed me to make a more complex structure for the composition and free up my hands for twisting knobs and doing some keys improv with the lead in the first section during the recording. On the Deluge I used the Drumuge synth kits for the beats, and a TAL Fairlight vibraphone multisampled instrument, which I adore. The other gear used in it were the Dreadbox Typhon for the drone and lead (a patch I modified from the Biblos7 preset),the Korg Minilogue xd with a strings patch I based on the synth strings from Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays’ “As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls” (from the section that was used in a famous cologne ad). I recorded it onto SD card on the Tascam Model 12 Mixer, so I only used the PC for the Audacity software to trim the ends and convert to mp3. | https://soundcloud.com/metamere/tracks |
Mikey Hogan | You Mess With Me | Metal, Punk | I wrote this song on an uke as part of a song a day project a few years ago. Following an encounter at work this month the song jumped right back in to my head and it was louder. | https://alonetone.com/MikeyHogan |
Nate Monoxide | Gomorrah (Sin City) | Dark, Electronic | Month 2 of straying outside my comfort zone. Went through three sets of lyrics and vocals before settling on this version. Inspired by The Prodigy, The Old Testament and Las Vegas. | https://soundcloud.com/natemonoxide/gomorrah |
phog masheeen | Noise Girl | Experimental, Pop | This is a song about a crossdressing noise performer at the Norcal Noisefest a few years back. | https://soundcloud.com/mark-a-soden-jr |
Safest Outbound Sparrows | In That Moment | Spoken Word, Experimental | Just a simple heartfelt spoken word track, backed by piano. Not a lot of trickery with this one. | https://safestoutboundsparrows.bandcamp.com/album/fragments |
Savory Flakes | Five Brightly Colored Wires | Rock | Added a bit too much reverb at the end but saw the time running away. This song is an effort to understand what happens when factions exist in isolation, even of themselves. Thanks to Mike K for the drums, and thanks to my favorite store for another cool 80s synth (QS8.1!). I never know where these things will end up. Thanks to the R.E.M. Challenge and I appreciate your comments. | https://on.soundcloud.com/PU97c |

Wilsun | Pronounce the Crown | Rock, Indie | My trying to sound like Manic Street Preachers. The song is about an ex-boss who was having an affair with a subordinate (who kept getting promotions, go fig). Both of them were embezzling money and ultimately got fired. | https://alonetone.com/wng801 |
